STRICTLY’S Danny John-Jules is secretly best pals with judge Bruno Tonioli – sparking fears of a fix.
The actor attended the same London dance studio as Bruno – and was even TAUGHT by him.
Danny – currently 8/1 to win the BBC1 series – let slip: “From the late Seventies Bruno and I used to go to the Dance Centre together.
“I don’t want him to be nice to me because it would look like it was a fix.
“I want him to be as wicked as he is to anyone else.
“It’s dancers’ banter.
“They don’t hold back.”
The 57-year-old Red Dwarf star attended former Strictly judge Arlene Phillips’ classes at Covent Garden’s Dance Centre – now known as Pineapple Dance Studios and made famous by the 2010 Sky1 reality show of the same name.
The trio soon became pals.
When Arlene – axed from Strictly in 2009 – was away, Bruno would stand in for her.
A source said: “Bruno and Danny were thick as thieves.
“Arlene used to joke they were like the naughty kids at the back of the class.
“The fact that they’ve known each other for so long will surely raise a few eyebrows.
“How can Bruno be impartial when he’s judging his pal?”
News of their friendship comes after old tweets of Danny’s came to light in which he accused Strictly of racism – and hit out at judges Bruno, 62, and Craig Revel Horwood.
In October 2016 he wrote: “They always get rid of the black guy first.”
Meanwhile on Twitter, PM Theresa May has offered contestants some help – despite a few question marks over her own dancefloor technique.

She jokingly responded to the show’s official social media feed, saying: “Get in touch if you need any tips . . . #Strictly”.
The tweet comes after Mrs May showed off her “Maybot” dancing skills during a recent trip to Africa.
She was mocked after joining in with schoolchildren in South Africa and again on a trade visit to Kenya last month.
