MEGHAN Markle’s mum reportedly made secret visits to the UK to comfort her daughter after her dad’s repeated outbursts.
Doria Ragland is understood to have flown from her home in LA to England following a series of damaging public outbursts by her ex-husband Thomas Markle.
On one occasion, in July, the social worker stayed at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s secluded cottage in Oxfordshire where the couple have spent most of the summer, it’s reported.
A source told the Mail on Sunday: “The visit was totally under the radar… Doria supported Meghan throughout a lot of the ordeal with Thomas.”
The couple are reportedly renting the four-bedroom cottage, located in a picturesque Cotswolds village.
A source revealed the property is “very private, has a vast open-plan kitchen and dining area for Meghan to cook in and lots of large windows for the stunning views.”
It’s thought Doria may have had to arrive at the property by helicopter, after a source told HELLO! that the couple often travel in and out by air so not to disrupt the local country lanes.
Doria’s visits reportedly came after Meghan’s 74-year-old father repeatedly criticised her for “cutting him off”.
The pair have apparently not spoken since the day after Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry, which her father missed due to heart surgery.
It was while he was recovering in hospital that Mr Markle claims he had a heated row with the newlyweds.
He said Harry told him he was in that position because he had not listened to their advice not to speak to the press – following the paparazzi scandal.
Mr Markle told the Sun on Sunday: “I felt disrespected by them. I was recovering from a heart attack, lying in a bed, having a phone call, and the things were being said that hurt me.
“I felt like I was being blamed for my mistakes when I was in my hospital bed recovering from a heart attack.”
Now Meghan wants time apart from her dad.
