New photo Denis Norden dead – TV legend dead aged 96, family says

TV legend Denis Norden has died aged, 96.

His family confirmed the It’ll Be Alright On the Night presenter passed away at 3am on Wednesday.

Born in Hackney, east London, in 1922, Denis became a successful comedy writer during the Second World War.

From 1948 to 1959, he co-wrote the successful BBC Radio comedy programme Take It From Here with Frank Muir.

He wrote scripts for Hollywood films including  Buona Sera, Mrs. Campbell and The Bliss of Mrs. Blossom.

But he will be best known for his iconic presenting duties on ITVs It’ll Be Alright On the Night – hosting blooper clips and outtakes with his own brand of wit and droll charm.

Norden and his wife Avril have a son, Nick, an architect, and a daughter, Maggie, a radio personality and lecturer at the London College of Fashion.

In later years, he suffered with macular degeneration – age related vision impairment.

Nicollette says: “I don’t like diets – I see it, I eat it! I believe in eating healthily with lots of protein, vegetables and carbs to give you energy.”
