AN eight-year-old girl was used as a “battering ram” by her own mum as she barged through crowds at a music festival before viciously attacking another woman who called her a “bad mother”.
Nicola McGrievy, 48, bit and scratched Diane Delderfield after she was confronted at the BBC Radio 2 festival in Hyde Park, central London, in September 2016.

A judge today handed her a 20-week jail sentence, suspended for two years, and ordered her to pay £995 over the “sustained” ten-second attack.
A Facebook post by Ms Delderfield showing cuts to her eyes and face was shared hundreds of times.
Prosecutor Katie Bryan said she was “five or six rows” from the main stage when she was attacked.
Miss Bryan told Westminster Magistrates Court: “Whilst waiting for a particular band, what the victim described was seeing the defendant pushing a small child through the crowd.

“The small child was in fact upset. She said to the defendant she was a ‘bad mother’, believing the child was in distress.”
McGrievy then told the victim three times to “say it again” before launching the attack.
Miss Bryan said: “She grabbed the victim by the top, pulling it down, tearing it and causing pain.
“She then described being attacked with both hands.”
She said DNA found on McGrievy’s sunglasses, which were knocked from her head during the attack, was later used to link her to the incident.

In a post on Facebook after the attack, Ms Delderfeld wrote: “She bit my finger and arm and scratched my face. I fear for the safety of the child.”
Another post added: “Security did not detain the woman and I desperately need to find photos of her.
“She had a small child with her who was constantly crying.”
District Judge Devinder Sandhu said: “This was a horrific display of violence on a woman who was at a family event.
“You were there with your daughter and this happened in front of your own child, who was present while her mother bit another woman twice, once on the arm, once on the finger, and scratched her to her face.
“This all happened in front of your own child and I have to consider the complainant, because from her perspective this was a sustained assault.”
Ms Delderfield was forced to have a tetanus jab and take blood tests after the attack, the court heard.
She described still having a scar on her chin 18 months after the attack, adding: “The incident became an almost all-consuming part of my life.
“I was also very worried about the blood test results for the time before I was cleared of any foreign infections.
“The bruising from my arm took about a week to fade and the scratches to my face two or three weeks.
“I refuse to allow the woman to ruin my life.”
McGrievy, from London Colney, Herts, was arrested when her DNA was taken in relation to an unrelated matter but was then linked to the festival assault.
District Judge Sandhu added: “She was of course worried about the results of the blood test.
“I’m of the view that this offence is so serious that a custodial sentence is justified.”
McGrievy was ordered to pay £775 prosecution costs, £100 compensation and a £115 victim surcharge.
Other headliners at the festival included Elton John and Madness.
