New photo Helen Flanagan 'doesn't care' if people disapprove of her breast feeding in public

Helen Flanagan has defiantly stood up against those who have negative views on her breastfeeding her newborn baby in public.

The former Coronation Street star admitted that after previous experiences where she has been made to feel insecure for feeding her child, she now ignores the backlash.

The 28-year-old was recently feeding her daughter Delilah, now 15 weeks, in Starbucks when a women stormed out because Helen wanted to breastfeed in public.

Reflecting on the incident where the woman, who was around her age, told her boyfriend that feeding in public was 'disgusting', she told The Sun's Fabulous Magazine it previously would have made her feel humiliated.

However, now the actress has branded the actions 'immature', and revealed that she decided to ignore the woman and carry on feeding Delilah.

Helen said that sometimes she does try to be discreet, but only when Delilah is comfortable because she is her priority.

She unapologetically said: 'I don't really care if someone doesn't approve of me breastfeeding, I just care about my baby being happy and fed.'

But despite her confidence Helen confessed that the experience is nerve-wracking at first and hopes to spread awareness that it is normal.

She has also faced online backlash from people who claim that her occasional hashtags #FeedWithConfidence and #NormalizeBreastfeeding are offensive to mother's who choose to bottle-feed.

However Helen stresses that she is always careful not to offend women who bottle-feed, adding that she would hate to make them feel bad about themselves.

Although she often receives these negative comments Helen refuses to add fuel to the fire by replying to them.

Another common criticism is that breastfeeding should be a private experience between a mum and her child, as opposed to sharing it on Instagram.

But once again defiant, Helen said that it's a normal part of her day and she shares all aspects of her life on social media, and if people don't like it she suggests that they unfollow her.

It isn't just breastfeeding that has triggered her followers, they also offered opinions on her decision to co-sleep with her eldest Matilda, three.

Following a heated debate, two years on Helen said that her little girl is still in her and fiancé Scott Sinclair's bed.

She said that she doesn't think there is anything wrong with it, as long as you still have time alone with your partner.

The reason she sleeps with Matilda is because she doesn't like the idea of her being scared in the night, but adds people should do whatever feels natural.

She said that she has always wanted to be a mother and on her 24th birthday Scott told her that he was ready to be a father.

The couple have now been together ten years and Helen said they plan to marry in 2020.
