BRITAIN will today be battered with heavy rain and gusts of up to 60mph – before we welcome glorious sunshine and 22C temperatures in the week.
A “danger to life” warning was put in place by The Met Office yesterday due to the intensity of the winds, however this morning those warnings have been dropped.

But southern England will still see 30mm of rain, with 45mph inland gusts expected, and 60mph on the coast.
Met Office Meteorologist Helen Roberts said it is “very unlikely at this stage” that today will bring the third named storm of the season.
She said: “It will be a wet and windy day across all southern parts, so southern counties of England and possibly South Wales as well, but nothing like what we’ve seen with the storms earlier in the week, so just a fairly typical autumnal cloudy, wet day.”
Northern Ireland, Scotland and northern England can expect a “fairly chilly day with bright, sunny spells and showers”, she added.

Temperatures will remain in the low teens, but conditions are expected to settle before rising to 22C by Thursday next week.
The hotter weather will continue into next weekend, with The Met Office projecting 20C on Friday.
