THANKSGIVING Day is today, which means the annual New York City Parade will be taking place, kicking off at 9am local time.
But is the weather going to cooperate? Here’s what we know about today’s NYC forecast…
What’s the weather like in New York?
Temperatures will range from freezing lows of -7C to a not-so-high of -4C in New York City today.
The temperature will be -6C at 9am when the parade kicks off, with it “feeling like” -13C.
When the parade finishes at 11am, the temperature will be -5C, with it actually “feeling like” -11C.
New York City is no stranger to freezing temperatures, as this time of year is usually very cold and windy.
Will it affect the Thanksgiving parade?
Though the temperatures are well below freezing, the weather shouldn’t affect the parade too much.
It won’t be snowing so there is no health hazards, however it will get chilly to watch for the spectators.
Where is the parade and what is its route?
The official parade kickoff is at 9am at West 77th Street and Central Park West.
The parade continues from Central Park West to Columbus Circle, turning onto Central Park South.
It then goes down West 59th Street until it reaches Sixth Avenue, where it will head south to West 38th Street.
The parade makes its final turn on West 34th Street and Sixth Avenue, stopping in front of Macy’s Herald Square at around 11am.

Who are this year’s performers at the parade?
Former Fifth Harmony member Ally Brooke is among the performers which include: Anika Noni Rose, Ashley Tisdale, Bad Bunny, Barenaked Ladies, Bazzi, Brynn Cartelli, Carly Pearce, Diana Ross and family, and Ella Mai.
Other include: Jack & Jack, John Legend, Kane Brown, Leona Lewis, Mackenzie Ziegler and Johnny Orlando, Martina McBride, Pentatonix, Rita Ora, Sugarland, and Tegan Marie.
Joining the giant character balloon line-up this year will be the famed Saiyan warrior Goku from “Dragon Ball Super: Broly.”
