A PUPIL used school computers to try to look up methods of suicide before taking his own life, an inquest heard.
Ben Walmsley, 15, made the searches during lessons but was blocked by a security firewall.

His dad found his body at home on February 4.
Tina Owen, head of Philips High School in Whitefield, told the Manchester hearing that staff now get alerts if pupils make similar searches.
Tina Owen also confirmed the school security firewall blocks 12,000 ‘inappropriate’ internet searches per day made at the 900-student school.
Friend’s of Ben told the authorities he was ‘obsessed’ with an online game called Doki Doki Literature. The game is free to download and features teenage cartoon characters, relationship breakdown, self-harm and suicide.

Ben also received counselling services for seven months at school, but neither his family nor his GP knew about this.
Coroner Ms Kearsley added: “Ben was not an individual who anyone, including his family, recognised as being of risk of self harm. He was not constantly talking about suicide or self harm.
“But the evidence we have heard now indicates, with the benefit of hindsight, that Ben was a young man who potentially had a number of complexities.”
Verdict: Suicide.
