PEP GUARDIOLA has said he “can’t be f*****” to read because he always ends up reading about Jurgen Klopp.
The Man City boss was speaking in a lecture at Liverpool University on a wide range of subjects – including his career and his support for Catalan independence.
And when asked what books he has enjoyed reading, he was quick to joke about the popular Liverpool boss.
He said: “I don’t read. I start reading and before I know it I am reading about Jurgen Klopp. I can’t be f***ed with that.”
Master tactician Guardiola has a history of annoyances with the Reds boss.
He was once left furious after the wacky German gatecrashed his post-match conference after their clash in pre-season.
He shook his hand before offering him his seat as he abruptly departed.
And it is clear the City boss feels he deserves just as much praise with his jokey statement.
The 47-year-old also spoke about his success with Barcelona and Bayern – but said managing in England poses a different challenge.
He said: “It’s the toughest one. For the amount of games, for the weather, the referees saying play, play, play. There are many contenders to win the title. No other country has that.
“It would be unfair to say that though. There are many things in Germany and Spain that have better things than here.
“I am a better manager now than I was at Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
It’s the most unpredictable league I’ve been in. You watch Match of the Day. The people are crazy here compared to other countries and it’s good.”
Guardiola and Man City are back in action against West Ham on Saturday at he London Stadium.
