Christopher Watts has been sentenced to life in prison for the murders of his pregnant wife and their two young daughters.
Watts, 33, appeared in court in Colorado on Monday. He accepted a plea deal earlier this month to avoid facing the death penalty.
He killed his wife Shanann, 34, and their daughters Bella and Celeste, aged four and three, in August after an 'emotional' conversation with Shanann at their home.
Shanann's father Frank Rzucek spoke at the hearing and labeled him an 'evil monster'.
'I trusted you to take care of them, not to kill them.
'You don’t know what love is. Because if you did you would not have killed them.
'You monster. You thought you would get away with this.
'You carried them out of the house like trash. You buried my daughter Shannan and Nico in a shallow grave and then you put Bella and CeCe in containers of crude oil,' he said, fighting tears as he read his statement.

Judge Marcelo Kopcow said: 'This is perhaps the most inhumane and vicious crime I have handled out the thousands of cases I have seen.'
For days after he killed them, Watts pretended not to know what had happened to them and made shifty appearances on national television.
Shanann's body was found in a shallow grave and the girls were found in crude oil tanks.
After they were discovered, Watts told police that it was Shanann who strangled the girls after he told her he was leaving her.
He said he killed his wife, who was 15 weeks pregnant with a baby boy, in a vengeful rage. He was having multiple affairs at the time.
His parents urged him not to take the plea deal and last week spoke out against Shanann, claiming the pair had an abusive marriage.
They also spoke at Monday's hearing and begged him for answers.
'As your mother, Chris, I have always loved you.
'We will remain faithful as your family,' his mother Cindy said.
