THE Apple App store and iTunes crashed across the world.
Customers took to social media to complain after the tech giant’s platforms were in meltdown early Wednesday morning.
People trying to access the services in the UK, US, Australia, and other pockets of the world, were met with an error message saying they “Cannot Connect”.
Customers vented their frustrations online, with one posting: “Am I tripping or is the App Store not working?”
Another said: “Is anyone else’s iTunes messing up?”
The tech giant posted: “We’re investigating and will update our System Status page as more info becomes available.”
Their systems page indicated those were the only two functions experiencing problems.
Some people mocked the inevitable social media outpouring.
One woman wrote: “OMG. App Store is down. iTunes is down. Stay safe out there ya’ll.”
Sun Online has contacted Apple for comment.
A map on Down Detector shows the worst affected areas were the east and west coasts of America.
The services were back online at 2.18am.
Apple tweeted: “Thanks for reaching out.

“There was a temporary issue with the App Store and Apple Music, however we wouldn’t expect for that to affect your iTunes content.”
It’s been a day of technology chaos with Facebook and Instagram going down across the world earlier.
Earlier this week, Tumblr was banned from the iOS App Store – because some customers were uploading child abuse images.
