JIM McDonald arrived back in Weatherfield to the delight of Corrie fans but he has a bombshell to drop on ex-wife Liz when he introduces her to Hannah, saying she’s their dead daughter Katie.
But who is Hannah? And is she who she claims to be? Let’s find out…
Who is Hannah in Coronation Street?
Hannah arrived in Coronation Street in September 2018 along with Jim McDonald.
She was introduced to Liz in the Bistro after Jim explained that Hannah was actually their daughter Katie who they believed to have died in 1992.
Liz was initially horrified, not believing it to be possible, but Jim explained that there had been a mix up at the hospital when Katie was born and they were given the wrong baby.
Meanwhile, Katie had been taken home by the wrong parents and eventually moved to Australia where she grew up.
But, when she was diagnosed with myotonic dystrophy – the genetic condition Jim has – it was discovered that her parents weren’t her biological parents.
Hannah then tracked down Jim by his army records. Well, that’s their story anyway.
Is Hannah trying to scam the McDonalds?
While Liz brought the story, it was revealed that Hannah and Jim were actually trying to con Liz and her son Steve out of their money and businesses in revenge for turning their backs on Jim when he was sent to prison for armed robbery in 2012.
After Hannah met with Liz, she left with Jim and the pair began kissing passionately in the car after wondering whether or not Liz had brought their story.
Hannah was even seen wiping away a fake birthmark in the car with Jim as they discussed their scam, something she’d used to convince Liz that she really was Katie.

Will she be found out?
Tracy and Steve are already suspicious about Hannah after they do some internet research and discover that she isn’t who she says she is.
But, will Jim and Hannah be able to convince them that she’s the real deal?
Who plays Hannah in Coronation Street?
Hannah is played by Hannah Ellis-Ryan, an Australian actress.
In 2009 she graduated from the University of Southern Queensland with a degree in Theatre Arts Acting.
She later moved to Manchester where she became involved in local theatre.
In 2014 she set up Play With Fire Productions with a friend from university, Daniel Bradford.
