Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was seen aiming seemingly angry words at Xherdan Shaqiri on the pitch in the immediate aftermath of Wednesday night's Carabao Cup loss to Chelsea.
Shaqiri was given a public dressing down from his boss at Anfield after goals from Eden Hazard and Emerson Palmieri turned the game on its head following Daniel Sturridge's acrobatic opener on 59 minutes.
When quizzed about his post-match words with Shaqiri, Klopp suggested that he had been telling the former Stoke ace that he should have insisted on taking a late free-kick that was instead wasted by captain Jordan Henderson.

Klopp later claimed his words with Shaqiri had been about a late free-kick Liverpool wasted
Klopp wanted Shaqiri to deliver a wide cross to Mohamed Salah at the far post, but Henderson aimed for Dejan Lovren who was unable to make anything happen.
'I spoke about a free-kick, the last one,' said Klopp. 'We wanted to have Mo a bit wider, so we had passed the ball to Mo, the whole bunch of players was in one direction – where we shot the ball, actually.
'But if we can send Mo into a one-on-one situation in the last situation of the game, it would have been not too bad. What I said was about the free-kick, nothing else.'
Klopp had expressed frustration with Shaqiri multiple times during the match.
The German was first seen repeatedly waving his hands at Shaqiri to order him to get up the pitch and press.
Klopp then fumed when Shaqiri stayed on the floor appealing for a penalty instead of trying to get back to his feet and play on.
