New photo Smirking ladette who grinned as she walked free from court is told off for laughing in the dock after appearing again on assault charge

A LADETTE who shamelessly smirked when she walked free from court this week has escaped jail time for a second time in just three days.

Natalie Ashworth, 32, was given a suspended sentence after weeping “crocodile tears” in court on Tuesday – only then to be seen laughing and joking outside.

Today, the mum-of-two was told off for laughing in the dock while on trial for beating up a neighbour in Reddish, Greater Manchester, and smashing his phone.

The lout walked away with a two-year community order but has to pay victim Daniel Shepley £250 in compensation.

Neighbours have repeatedly complained about Ashworth’s alcohol-fuelled behaviour.

Shepley said she began yelling and swearing at him last June when he denied a request to dog-sit for her.

When told her, “no one likes you round here”, she replied: “If you come any closer to me I will punch you in the face.”

He then got his phone out to record the verbal attack but she knocked it out of his hand, sending it crashing to the ground.

Witnesses said they saw her kick and punch Shepley up to ten times before walking off.

When she was charged with the attack, Ashworth went to his home and said: “If I go back to prison then your home and pub will get rushed.

“If I get locked up then I have got friends who will rush his house and his mum’s pub will be no more.”

Another neighbour claimed they heard Ashworth shout: “Drop the charges or you will get shot.”

In a phone call to Mr Shepley, she added: “Your life will not be worth living if I go to jail.”

Ashworth admitted charges of witness intimidation at Minshull Street Crown Court earlier this week.

But she began weeping in the dock before Judge John Potter said he was suspending the jail term.

He said the refuge centre where Ashworth was living had noted a ”significant change in her behaviour”.

Today at Stockport magistrates court, Ashworth was told off for laughing in the dock as Shepley’s victim statement was read out.

Ashworth has 20 offences on her record dating back to 2012, including disorderly behaviour, criminal damage and two counts of battery.

She also had convictions for racially aggravated disorder offences in both 2015 and 2016.

When asked for comment after the hearing, Ashworth replied: ”You’ve ruined my life. You need to stay away from me when I leave here.”

Her lawyer Andrew Lawson said in mitigation: ”Since July she has been in a refuge centre. She appeared here on 2nd August and pleaded not guilty to the offences, so a trial date was set for October.

“The paperwork states that Mr Shepley thankfully has no marks or injuries. She has mental health issues which means she is not working. There is lots of work being done to try and turn things around for her.”
