PAUL POGBA missed Marouane Fellaini’s dramatic late goal at Old Trafford after leaving his seat early.

Despite losing on penalties, super-sub Fellaini nodded in an injury-time equaliser for Manchester United against Derby in the EFL Cup third round.

Pogba, whose war with Jose Mourinho deepened today, was sat in the stands after the United boss said he was being “rested”.

But the French midfielder, dressed all in white, was seen rising from his seat as United appeared to be heading to defeat.

In the end, that was exactly what did happen – it just took 15 penalties to get there.

United defender Phil Jones missed to see Frank Lampard beat former boss Mourinho in their first meeting as managers.

Juan Mata had put the hosts ahead with a beautifully-worked third-minute strike.

But Liverpool loanee Harry Wilson hit a stunning free-kick that dipped and whipped past United keeper Romero.

Watching the ball soar past him was one of the Argentinian’s last acts this evening as he was dismissed for handling the ball outside the area.

Jack Marriott put the visitors ahead and then the injury-time drama took place – with Pogba nowhere in sight.
