A DRUGS gang who ran multi-million pound Crystal Meth ring from their Cheshire home were caught out by their lavish holiday pictures while on a smuggling run to Japan.
Majid Rasoolzadeh and his fellow conspirators posed for pictures outside temples, statues, and even in bars and restaurants.
A jury was shown the images to help prove the gang’s murky links with the Far East.
The group smuggled the high-purity crystal meth from Iran to Turkey before flying it back to the UK on commercial flights before it was finally sent to Japan, the court heard.
Those moving the drugs hid them in the lining of suitcases.
Flights to Japan were paid for in cash and then sold on the drugs to the country’s criminal underworld, the court heard.
Sentencing, Judge Martin Walsh said: “The potential profit from this illicit trade to those who organised it was enormous.”
Iranian national Rasoolzadeh, 46, – convicted of co-ordinating an international trafficking operation – is now on the run after absconding during his Manchester Crown Court trial.
He denied drugs offences but was found guilty and sentenced to 16 years’ prison in his absence, The Manchester Evening News reports.
‘Gangmaster’ Jan Pasulka, 36, is also on the run and received 12 years prison in his absence.
Arrest warrants have been issued for both men, who were on bail.
Drugs couriers Jan Stinic, 37, and Dusan Staruch, 29, pleaded not guilty but were jailed for 10-and-a-half years and eight-and-a-half years respectively.

Prosecutor Henry Blackshaw described Rasoolzadeh as the leading light of the operation.
He said: “He was the most senior person in this operation, who we say was overseeing and co-ordinating from his home in Alderley Edge.
Majid Rasoolzadeh, Alderley Edge; Jan Pasulka, of Plymouth; Dusan Staruch, of Leeds; and Jan Stinic, of Plymouth, denied wrongdoing but were all found guilty of conspiracy to supply class A drugs and another of conspiracy to import a controlled drug.
