New photo Cambridgeshire runners and tips: Your top pinstickers’ guide to Saturday’s valuable handicap at Newmarket

HAVE a royal result with SENIORITY in the bet365 Cambridgeshire.

William Haggas’ smart colt was an impressive winner of the Golden Mile at Glorious Goodwood and will love conditions. He can defy a rise in the weights now dropped back in grade after performing respectably in Group company last time out.

Circus Couture 3/5

Won’t have you clowning about. Produced some nice performances in Group company after almost causing a shock in the Royal Hunt Cup at 100/1. Definitely overpriced at but does have to defy top weight.

Pivoine 4/5

Easy as Pi. Comprehensively outpointed favourite Alfarris last time out, although the turnaround in the weights now makes it close between them. Man of the moment Oisin Murphy takes the ride and this one could be capable of a big run.

Sharja Bridge 3/5

Can Bridge the gap to profit. Sometimes looks as though he doesn’t like to put all the effort in. Has form capable of winning this race despite the fact he’s climbing the weights without much too show for it.

Mountain Hunter 3/5

Could Hunt down his prey. Had some very smart form in Meydan but has only had one run since, finishing fifth in a decent handicap at Doncaster. Will need to build on that here but has the ability to mount a challenge.

Alfarris 4/5

Won’t be Far away. Very consistent sort for William Haggas who has the right profile for this sort of test. Up to a career high mark of 104 now and that could just find him out. Dropped back in trip now so expect him to be finishing strongly.

Seniority 5/5

Will show the youngsters how it’s done. Another runner for Haggas with a big chance. Won impressively at Glorious Goodwood and has long looked a Group performer in the making. Found that step up too much last time but still retains serious potential. Runs for the Queen.

Afaak 2/5

No After-timing here. Produced some decent performances in handicaps this season including winning at York back in May. This trip should suit but he looks to be a bit high in the weights for now.

Wissahickon 3/5

Wis you is or Wis you ain’t. Runs for powerful combo of Gosden and Dettori. Done nothing but progress this season but slightly worrying his last two turf starts have been very poor. Needs to show more before being a selection.

Very Talented 4/5

Could stick his Talens in. Third in the race two years ago has only run once since, winning well at Chelmsford earlier this month. That will have set him up nicely for a crack at this and smart claimer Rossa Ryan takes off a valuable 3lb.

Tricorn 1/5

Punters will find him Tri-ing. Likely to stay the trip despite having only run over it once in the past. Goes on the track and hood worked recently at Chelmsford. However, not shown enough to be worth consideration.

Abe Lincoln 2/5

UnAbel to get you out of trouble. Once touted a future Group winner but has not hit those heights just yet. Had some smart form on the all-weather but he’s bred for synthetics and needs to produce a big performance switched to turf.

Kenya 4/5

Yes he Afri-can. Bolted up in Irish version of this on his penultimate start before finishing second in a Group 2. Now 8lb higher but clearly going the right away and is trained by the best in the business. Has a big chance.

Kynren 4/5

Can perform like Kylie. Hasn’t got his head in front recently but has run some blinders in defeat and looks capable of a big run. Up another 3lb after narrowly losing out to Poet’s Society at York but he’s still improving and can definitely go close.

UAE Prince 3/5

Du-bai it? Runner-up last time on this course but that was back in May. If ready to go after such a long break then has definite squeak but he could be vulnerable to those who are fitter. Stays much further than this and could be done for toe.

Mistiroc 2/5

Will have you Misti-eyed. One of the few runners in the contest coming off the back of a flop. Soft ground may have been to blame though, and has chances on the form of his third of twenty at York back in July.

Via Via 1/5

Road to nowhere. Good second off a slightly reduced mark on the July course last time out but hasn’t won since March 2017 and this is a tough enough race in which to buck that trend.

Waarif 3/5

Go to Waar with this one. Has done nothing but improve of late and made it four wins from his last six starts when striking on Heavy ground at Ayr last week. Only carries a 4lb penalty for that win but these are very different conditions.

Euro Nightmare 1/5

Won’t be Eur banker. Been plying his trade in Group company for most of this year but is better over further and will find things happening too quickly back in handicap company.

Raising Sand 1/5

Won’t Sand and deliver. Gives classy rider Nicola Currie a deserved big-race ride but that’s about the only positive about his chance. Not been in good enough form recently and this is probably too far for him.

Zwayyan 3/5

Don’t be Zwayyed. One of many new recruits for King Power racing, has a big shout on some of his recent form. Brilliant claimer Jason Watson takes the ride and don’t be surprised to see a big run at an outside price.

Dancetaria 3/5

Dance to the winning beat. Notched up four victories earlier in the season but the handicapper’s probably caught up now judged on a fifth at the Curragh last time out. That was still a good run though and this trip will be perfect.

What’s The Story 1/5

Sad Story. Produced a belter to be fourth in the Royal Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot but has been unable to repeat those heroics since. Finished down the field at Galway last time in first-time blinkers and it would be a shock if he won.

Ventura Knight 1/5

Night Knight. Looks to be harshly handicapped now following two wins in mid-summer and this would be a career-best effort by some margin.

Via Serendipity 3/5

Get your Vialins out. Won well last time out in the Shergar Cup though that form can be taken with a pinch of salt. Previously finished fourth in the International Stakes and likely to be suited by the step up in trip. Not without a chance.

Mythical Madness 1/5

You’d be Mad to back this. Not shown anything like the form needed to take this contest in the last season or two and really needs to come down the handicap before he starts winning again.

Third Time Lucky 2/5

Won’t be your Lucky charm. Won this back in 2015 and was fourth the following year, so clearly this test suits him well. Still only a six-year-old despite seemingly having been around for ever and can be given a squeak off only 2lb higher than when successful three seasons ago.

Kings Gift 2/5

Won’t be a Royal upset. Handicapper looks to have him where he wants him off 97, despite the fact he’s been rated higher in the past. Had some very decent form as a two-year-old but hasn’t built on it recently.

Restorer 1/5

No win in Store. Won at Dr Marwan Koukash’s favourite haunt in May but has been disappointing since. Victorious at the track off a mark of 100 back in 2015 but doesn’t seem to enjoy the game as much now and looks harshly treated even now.

Examiner 2/5

You’ll like this less than your Ex. Wears first-time cheekpieces in a bid to rediscover some semblance of form. Only 2lb higher than winning at the course in April but needs to bounce back to the form of last year, when he finished sixth in the race.

Sabador 2/5

Fletch and Sab. Nice performance to finish third in the Cunard Handicap and only 1lb higher now. Needs to prove he can perform over this longer distance.

Masham Star 1/5

No Star here. A second at Bath last time leaves him with huge amounts to find and he’s surely not good enough these days to land this in any case.

Stylehunter 4/5

Could fashion a win. Improving rapidly and can be given a good chance based on his easy win at Goodwood last time out. Raised 8lb for that but still only carries 8st12lb and is one of the few at the bottom of the handicap with a genuinely strong chance.

Mordin 1/5

No Mor please. Very consistent, having finished in the first two in six of his seven starts. However, hasn’t won for a while and this is a good bit tougher than when he was second at Sandown last time out.

Sands Chorus 1/5

Chor blimey. No chance based on recent form and surely only in the race to give his owners a day out.

Bravery 2/5

You’d be brave to back this one. Lincoln winner last year isn’t the most consistent but has a chance if putting it all in. Now dropped to a very good mark but will need to improve on recent displays if he is to land this.

Hayden says: “I don’t have a model’s body, but I’m not one of those crazy girls who thinks that they’re fat. I’m OK with what I have.”

Nicollette says: “I don’t like diets – I see it, I eat it! I believe in eating healthily with lots of protein, vegetables and carbs to give you energy.”
