New photo 'Calling me FUGLY and sending me a frame does what for you?': Cassandra Thorburn hits back at troll

Former journalist Cassandra Thorburn appeared as a special guest on Studio 10 on Wednesday.

Cassandra, 47, who is the ex wife of Today show co-host Karl Stefanovic, discussed various subjects on the program including her marriage breakdown and her new childrens' book.

But the sensitive issues seemed to be lost on one viewer of the Network Ten program, who trolled the mum of three on social media afterwards.

The troll took some screen shots of Cassandra, taken from an unflattering angle of her on Studio 10, and messaged them to her on Facebook with a nasty comment on her looks.

Cassandra uploaded the grabs to Instagram on Wednesday night and captioned the post: 'What about this bully, yes you have taken a freeze frame of someone making a face and what's your point? 

'Calling me FUGLY and sending me a frame does what for you? #callingoutthebullies #nottoleratingitanymore.'

The author's followers lent their support by commenting: 'You are gorgeous inside and out', and, 'A natural beauty on camera.'

Cassandra gratefully responded to some of her followers' messages of support, and vowed to expose such trolls, writing: 'Don't worry it doesn't get me down. I'm calling them out from here in.'

Other followers lambasted the troll, writing: 'What a DH! Obviously hasn't got a life! Glad you named and shamed him, what a sad loser he is.'

She also said that Karl was still very much dad to their three children.
