He said: “I do see a version of the show coming back.

“There are a host of other periods in history which could be turned into a six-part Blackadder series.

“We’d have to get the old group back together again.

“I know everyone is busy doing wonderful things, but we all have fond memories so I’m sure we would work it out.”

It is believed Atkinson and cast regular Tim McInnerny support a reboot.

The first four BBC series are among the most beloved in British comedy.

Originally written by Love Actually’s Richard Curtis, it wasn’t until comedian Ben Elton started having script input that the show really got into its stride.

Each series covers a period of history.

So far it has been set in the Middle Ages, Elizabethan England, the Georgian era and the trenches World War One.

The final season, Blackadder Goes Forth is best remembered for the heartwrenching ending as the characters go ‘over the top’ to face the Germans.

It regularly tops polls of the nation’s favourite comedy shows.

In 1999, a new feature length special, Blackadder Back & Forth was commissioned to play inside London’s Millennium Dome – now the O2 Arena.

Hayden says: “I don’t have a model’s body, but I’m not one of those crazy girls who thinks that they’re fat. I’m OK with what I have.”

Nicollette says: “I don’t like diets – I see it, I eat it! I believe in eating healthily with lots of protein, vegetables and carbs to give you energy.”
