New photo Big Brother 2018: Last EVER launch show sees 14 housemates make their arrival

It was confirmed to be coming to an end earlier in the day.

And Big Brother's final ever series kicked off with an almighty bang on Friday night, as 14 housemates ranging from the son of a Playboy model to a feminist lesbian Buddhist made their arrival in Borehamwood bungalow.

Hosted by Emma Willis, the dramatic launch saw the show's most eclectic lineup yet make their arrival in the house which has been given a 'social experiment chic' makeover.

First to enter the house was 23 year old farmer Cian from County Tipperary in Ireland, who admitted he would love the chance to meet with people who are not as extroverted as he is.

Entering the house in a sensational faux fur coat, the Irishman called himself a 'walking carpet,' before confessing he would be like Big Brother's little 'b****.'

During his entry chat Cian added: 'Princess Diane is my idol! I should go into the Big Brother house because you've never had a 23 year old gay farmer from the heart of Ireland.'

Second to enter was 31-year-old spiritual adviser Anamelia, who was born in Brazil but moved to Sweden at the age of five.

After revealing she was conceived during a one-night stand, the brunette beauty said she would like to widen representation of spiritual mediums, saying they're all 'just old women in glasses with a crystal ball.'

The third arrival was self-confessed 'former bad boy' Lewis F, a 27-year-old bartender from Stockton on Tees.

After listing an array of former crimes, Lewis F admitted that although he's a 'nice person, when you catch me in a bad mood you're probably going to think I'm a bit of an a**hole.'

On whether he would be open to finding love in the house, the hunk - who also gave fans a glimpse of his eight-pack - added: 'You know when you see a movie and one actor just walks about the corner and meets another actor, I just want to meet that person.'

Lapping up the attention upon her BB house debut was the fourth housemate 23-year-old telesales assistant Kenalay from Nottingham.

Admitting the least-favourite person she would like to live with is either someone who is a 'tramp' or 'ignorant,' she added that she would be open to finding love in the house.

The curvy beauty also said: 'If we're vibesing on the same wave we can wave together, I wouldn't mind a bit of 50 Cent.'

Polish cleaner Tomasz, 31, also made a jaw-dropping entry into the house, showcasing his representation as gender neutral in a gorgeous stylish black kaftan complete with a hand fan.

Moving to the UK eleven years ago, he admitted to leaving his native Poland, as they view the 'LGBT community as second class citizens.'

He said: 'I'm ready to throw under the bus anybody who deserves it.

'I'm not a really good dancer, all I can do if just show my personality and hope somebody likes it.'

And never one to shy away from a camera was Conservative 'vlogger' Cameron, who was a mere six months old when Big Brother first began in 2000.

A self-confessed moaner, the teen said his negative perception could be viewed as 'irritating' by his fellow housemates, and only seemed to add fuel to the fire by saying he was nothing short of a competitive man.

And it seems Cameron has been unlucky in love during his teen years, as he said he has only been in love with women who have been unattainable.

Showing off her jaw-dropping figure was the waitress from Barnsley Sian, a single mum who would spend the prize fund on home for her mum in Tenerife and Skegness (or in her words 'Skeggy').

The leggy beauty covered head to toe in tattoos says that she would lose her temper if a housemate went near her food, and added: 'I am a girly girl, but I don't like miserable people.'

Pint-sized fast food worker Ellis, 19, from Scotland nearly suffered a nasty wardrobe malfunction as she sported a tiny checked dress upon arrival in the house.

The bubbly beauty said; 'People always say Ellie you're unintentionally funny, I would literally walk through ASDA and do a s**t drop.

'I'll probably annoy some people to be fair, but it's gonna be good telly isn't it. Could you get Irn Bru in the BB house?'

After admitting he would most struggle without letting loose in the house, ex-semi professional footballer Isaac, 23, from Suffolk joked: 'Imagine your mum's just turning on and you're in the shower like [laughs]'

The former Ipswich Town confessed that he was in contention for sporting stardom during his teen years, but was eventually released after 'getting into girls.'

Never afraid to speak his mind Isaac said he 'likes the sort of banter that's like on the edge of being off limits.'

Going against the stereotype that lesbians were 'all butch' was 21-year-old graphic designer Brooke from London, who said that she is a feminine Buddhist who writes to help widen people's perspectives on the universe.

She added that she wants to go against the idea that everyone needs someone to feel 'complete,' and was putting on an ab-flashing display as she enters the house.

And as the only housemate entering the house with a significant other on the outside, 26-year-old consultant Akeem said he won't hold back from a challenge.

As an artist with a cheeky interest in fallacy and a conversion to veganism, London-based Kay, 32, also revealed she enjoys dressing up in alter-egos, including 'boy from the hood' Caleb and Persian cat Kimmy Kanya.

Having recently ditched eating animals she explains: 'I would love to make veganism sexy and veganism cool, it's not just for sun-worshipping hippies.

'You don't need to go on Instagram and get your a** out, you can do it in a really beautiful and really humble way.'

And after admitting that she thinks her family are just like the Kardashians, 31-year-old carer Zoe from Halifax struggled to hold back tears as she embraced her family before entering the house.

The bubbly beauty - who was described her sister as the Khloe Kardashian of her family - made her arrival after revealing she has been taking care of her 11 year old son with special needs.

She said: 'I won't let society make me feel like I have to put myself down, it's alright to be however you look it's inside that counts, be you do you, and everyone will be fine with it.'

'If someone is starting on me I'll sing to them they either don't know what to say or they laugh and we make up.'

And last but not least to make his entry was the 25-year-old bricklayer Lewis G, who after prolonging his entry for the longest possible, eventually made his arrival to furious boos from the crowd.

The Camden Town boy - who grew up in Los Angeles where his mum worked as a Playboy model - said that he'll be bringing 'something to the house that no one else will.'

He added: 'I like showing off i'm a walking star, I will wake up and I am in a good mood, bopping down the street in Camden Town.

'I'm here to have fun and enjoy this all.'

And as all 14 housemates began to make acquaintances, the ever omnipotent Big Brother introduced the first twist of the series, where they began the show's Orwellian feel with the house's very own currency.

After winning a fan poll Sian was awarded the first 100 'Big Brother coins' and a scramble then commenced to see housemates grab their own money as it showered from the ceiling.

It was then revealed that the housemates will not nominate in their first week as instead they will face eviction if they are the lowest valued in the amount of money they 'own.'

Fans will have to wait and see how this first twist of the final series will pan out.

And Emma Willis was effortlessly chic as she hosted the last ever launch show, teaming a buttoned-up black blouse with matching braced trousers.

The 42-year-old took to the stage ahead of Friday's opening show which will see 14 new housemates enter the Elstree abode, after it was confirmed earlier in the day that the show had been axed by Channel 5 after 18 years on air.

Never one to shy away from a dynamic look, Emma was putting on a stylish display in the dark grey collared blouse and navy blue trousers with velvet braces.

The mother-of-two accessorised with navy pointed-toe heels, and had her honeyed tresses styled into their signature quiff.

Emma was taking to the stage once again as she hosted Big Brother's last ever series, 18 years after the show first began on Channel 4.

Channel 5 bosses confirmed on Friday that Big Brother will finally come to an end following the current series.

In a statement the network said: 'We'd like to thank Endemol and all of the production team who have worked tirelessly to make the show a success.'

'We'd also like to thank our brilliant presenters - Emma on Big Brother and Rylan from Bit on the Side - for their consummate professionalism, Marcus, the voice of Big Brother and all of the housemates who have created so many memorable moments.

'Most importantly, we'd like to thank fans of the show for their support over the last seven years. We look forward to giving the final series a brilliant send-off', they concluded.

Bit On The Side spin-off show host Rylan Clark-Neal said he was 'saddened' by the news. He is pictured here with Ryan Thomas earlier this week after he won the celebrity version

A teaser clip posted to the Big Brother's Twitter account further echoed the announcement, reading: 'The forthcoming series of Big Brother will be the last - of either celebrity or civilian versions - on Channel 5.'

Channel 5 boss Ben Frow had confirmed last month that the show wasn't slated to air next year, as the end of 2018 also saw the end of Endemol's current contract with the channel.

Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival he said: 'I have planned for a year without Big Brother. But never say never. The contract runs out at Christmas.'

It had become a common complaint for many Big Brother fans that the civilian show featured a line-up of Z-listers and reality TV has-beens.

But host Emma Willis has insisted that this year will see the show return to its social experiment roots, saying on BOTS it is 'the general public' that fans will see enter the house.

A teaser released earlier this week gave fans a glimpse of the show's 'mind games' theme that is set to take centre stage, along with tiny looks at this year's lineup.

Emma also revealed that fans could vote for one housemate who would receive a 'major advantage', and Rylan teased that a special gold coin emblazoned with the classic BB eye symbol would play a big part in this year's show.

The news comes after the latest celebrity instalment saw just two million viewers tune in on launch night, a 100,000 less than January's figures.

Last year's civilian series - airing in its usual summer slot - saw an average of just 1.24 million viewers, a record low for the series.

But interest in the show could be re-ignited following this summer's CBB, which saw actor Ryan Thomas crowned series champion on Monday night.

And despite increased interest the final pulled in a mere 1.6 million viewers, again a record low for the star-studded format.

Big Brother continues on Sunday 16th September at 9pm on Channel 5.
