New photo Accidental Agent primed for Joel Stakes shot as Eve Johnson Houghton believes he can overcome Group 1 penalty for Royal Ascot win

EVE JOHNSON HOUGHTON is looking forward to unleashing her special Agent at Newmarket tomorrow.

Accidental Agent will line up in the Shadwell Joel Stakes with a licence to thrill having caused a monster shock when winning the Queen Anne Stakes – the first race of Royal Ascot – in June.

A sickness bug meant he’s only been seen once since when trailing home well beaten behind star filly Alpha Centauri in the Jacques Le Marois at Deauville.

He will face just four rivals in tomorrow’s Group 2 contest. The mile contest will help sharpen his edge ahead of next month’s QEII Stakes on Champions’ Day back at Ascot.

Johnson Houghton said: “He’s got to carry a Group 1 penalty but I believe he’s still improving. I can’t see why that won’t negate the burden of having to give weight away.

“He has only run below par once this year and that was in France when he was under the weather.

“I think he went over with some kind of bug on him – he was very quiet while he was over there. The travelling brought it out and he was very low for two weeks afterwards.

“He has thrived since then and he has to run in the Joel as he is a gross horse – waiting another month for the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes would be too much.”

Accidental Agent is named after Johnson Houghton’s grandfather John Goldsmith. He was awarded the Military Cross after spending World War II as a spy.

His heroics – including escaping from the Gestapo – were detailed in his autobiography Accidental Agent.

The horse named after that remarkable story is a 14-1 shot with Ladbrokes for the QEII Stakes on QIPCO British Champions Day.

Hayden says: “I don’t have a model’s body, but I’m not one of those crazy girls who thinks that they’re fat. I’m OK with what I have.”

Nicollette says: “I don’t like diets – I see it, I eat it! I believe in eating healthily with lots of protein, vegetables and carbs to give you energy.”

Kim says: “I am no super-thin Hollywood actress. I am built for men who like women to look like women.”
