A COIN collector was stabbed to death by another enthusiast who wanted his limited edition Beatrix Potter 50p pieces, a court heard.
Danny Bostock, 33, was allegedly disturbed as he burgled the home of Gordon McGhee, 52, after the pair had been drinking together.

He knifed Mr McGhee 14 times in a “determined and brutal” attack, it was said — then turned on a gas cooker and lit a towel in a bid to start an explosion.
Prosecutor Andrew Jackson told Ipswich crown court: “He wanted to destroy Mr McGhee’s body and all traces of what he had done.”
Bostock allegedly wanted Mr McGhee’s Potter coins after swapping his own collection commemorating the author hours earlier.
Mr Jackson said: “After the murder, Mr McGhee’s coin collection, the bulk of it, couldn’t be found. We say it was this defendant who took it.”

The court heard that Bostock cycled away wearing a distinctive pair of Lonsdale trainers — later forensically linked to blood at the flat in Colchester, Essex.
His DNA was also said to be on the lit towel.
Bostock denies murder and attempted arson. Trial continues.
