MISSING actress Fan Bingbing has been fined £98million for tax-dodging in China.
The X-Men and Iron Man star also apologised on social media yesterday.
It was her first post since she vanished in July.
The disappearance of China’s richest actress sparked fears for her safety amid reports she was being held in “secret detention”.
Bingbing faces criminal charges if the fines are not paid, state news agency Xinhua said.
In a post to 62million fans on her Weibo online account, the 37-year-old declared: “I’ve been suffering unprecedented pain recently. I’m so ashamed of what I’ve done — I sincerely apologise to everyone.
“I completely accept all the penalty decisions made according to law, after the investigation by tax authorities.
“I will follow the order, try to overcome difficulties, raise funds, pay taxes and fines.”
She also grovelled to the ruling Chinese Communist Party insisting: “Without the good policies of the party, and without the love of the people, there would be no Fan Bingbing.”
It was reported she has been held under “residential surveillance” at a resort in Jiangsu.
Beijing launched a probe after Chinese film stars allegedly misreported earnings.

Bingbing is said to have signed “yin-yang contracts” to disguise her earnings. The authorities have ordered the star and firms she controls to pay £98million in taxes, fines and penalties.
Bingbing broke into Hollywood as Blink in X-Men: Days of Future Past and Wu Jiaqi in Iron Man 3.
Last year she topped Forbes magazine’s list of top Chinese celebrities with a reported income of around £33million.
