EDDIE Murphy’s former holiday mansion is up for auction after its £7.6million price tag failed to attract a buyer.

The palatial gated estate boasts panoramic mountain and lake views, and includes an elevator, plush home theatre, and even an arcade.

Murphy, who is one of the highest grossing Hollywood stars, with his films earning billions of pounds worldwide, lived in the property until about one decade ago.

The funny man bought the 2.5-acre site in Granite Bay, near Sacramento in California, in 1998, as a holiday home while married to his ex-wife Nicole Mitchell.

It was then sold in 2007 for £4.7million.

After being put on the market earlier this year, and failing to secure a buyer, luxury estate auction house DeCaro Auctions announced plans to sell it to the highest bidder, without reserve, on October 27.

The large main house is about 12,600 sq ft, with seven bedrooms and 11 bathrooms.

A separate annexe is described as a 5,200 sq ft guest house, with three bedrooms and six bathrooms.

The guest house, which has a three-car garage, also has a commercial gym and conference room.

The palatial, gated estate sits on a hilltop looking out to Folsom Lake, with panoramic views of the Sierra Nevada mountains and the Sacramento skyline

DeCaro said in a news release that there will be no minimum price, and remote bidding will be accepted.

“This exclusive neighbourhood is home to several actors and athletes, and is known for its privacy and seclusion, offering all the best of California living,” Daniel DeCaro, the auction house’s founder and CEO, said.

Apart from its own arcade, home cinema, elevator, infinity pool and spa at the main house the property also offers a gym, basketball and tennis courts.
