"Many Photos" - Forty nudists sail down Shropshire Union Canal and enjoy fish 'n' chips

Dozens of nudists enjoyed a fish and chip supper on a canal cruise - without a single codpiece in sight.  

The 40 nudists set sail down the Shropshire Union Canal in Stafford on Thursday evening to show the public how fun doing everyday tasks without any clothes on can be.

British Naturism, a 50-year-old organisation boasting more than 9,000 members, set up the event after previously holding naked cycle rides, swimming sessions, dining and garden visits.

Norbury Wharf Limited, which organises regular fish and chip cruises on its 42-seater trip boat The Shropshire Star, agreed to host the dinner with director David Ray manning the bar and serving the fish and chips.

Organiser John Rodgers confirmed there was a strict no clothes policy on board the canal boat.

He added: 'A naturist environment inspires freedom, body positivity and has been proven to make people happier, improving mental health and wellbeing.

'It is a positive family lifestyle.'
