SASHA BANKS is reportedly struggling with injury as her hopes of creating history hang in the balance.

“The Boss” has not been medically cleared to compete since losing to Ronda Rousey at the Royal Rumble.

And that could jeopardise her and partner Bayley’s chances of becoming WWE’s first-ever Women’s Tag-Team Champions at Elimination Chamber on February 17.

That’s according to Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, who said that was the reason behind her lack of involvement on Monday Night Raw.

WWE managed to work around the problem by having Alicia Fox and Nikki Cross attack Banks on the entrance ramp pre-match.

That forced Bayley to work the entire bout alone without tagging her best friend in to the contest.

Anyone carrying a knock is usually not allowed anywhere near a ring while recovering.

But Meltzer suggested it was done to have the Boss ‘n Hug Connection still qualify for the title clash at next week’s pay-per-view.

And that would suggest Banks’ injury, which has not yet been revealed, is expected to have cleared for Elimination Chamber.

The former Raw Women’s Title holder and Bayley will challenge Nia Jax and Tamina, The Riott Squad, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, The IIconics and Naomi and Carmella to be crowned inaugural champs.
