This is the hilarious moment a determined cat throws a pile of towels on the bathroom floor so it can sit up on a shelf.

The clip, filmed in Leipzig, Germany, captures the cheeky feline as it claws at a stack of blue-striped towels in a wooden shelving unit.

Bacardi the cat stands on its back legs and stretches up to reach the towels before pulling them to the ground one by one.

Three of the towels tumble to the ground as the cheeky feline stares excitedly into the newly-made space.

The 10-year-old black and white cat then leaps into the wooden enclave when just one towel is left on the shelf.

It uses the remaining material as a blanket, turning around in the small space to get comfortable.

Bacardi then sits with its head poking out of the shelf as its bemused owner watches on. 

The cat's owner said: 'Bacardi follows me in almost every room. There Bacardi is searching for some stupid thing to do.'
