ALEX SCOTT slammed Stephan Lichtsteiner’s “half-a****d” defending as Arsenal were beaten 3-1 at Manchester City.

Lichtsteiner had an evening to forget at the Etihad as all of City’s goals came from the right side of Arsenal’s defence.

Sky Sports pundit Alex Scott, who formerly played for Arsenal’s women’s side, slammed the former Juventus right-back for his “half-a****d” defending.

Scott said: “He’s all over the place. He doesn’t know when to go and close down his player.

“He’s leaving…a bit half-a***d and that’s why between him and (Alex) Iwobi, they’re getting popped around down this side.”

The Gunners were downed by a Sergio Aguero hat-trick after a relatively decent all-round performance was ruined by all-too familiar weaknesses at the back.

Defeat for the Gunners saw them slip to sixth with Manchester United’s win at Leicester meaning they are two points behind Chelsea in fourth.

The Gunners did not record a single shot in the second-half as they were condemned to their sixth league defeat of the season.
