IDRIS Elba’s 17-year-old daughter, Isan, upstaged her dad when they presented a Golden Globe award together during tonight’s ceremony.
Viewers were shocked to learn that the 46-year-old British actor had a grown-up daughter – with others being confused by her American accent.
Earlier in the night, the pair were interviewed by Ryan Seacrest alongside Idris’ fiancee Sabrina Dhowre, with the host asking Idris if he had any advice for his teen daughter – who is Golden Globes’ ambassador.
The Luther star replied: “Keep your back straight – elegance is presence.
“Smile and nod politely, even if you have no idea what people are saying.
“And if you think you are going to pass out – don’t.”
While some were confused to have learned something new about Idris in tonight’s show, others were touched by the sweet father-daughter relationship.
One surprised fan commented: “I did not know Idris Elba had a daughter.”
Another asked: “Why does Idris Elba’s daughter have an American accent?”
A third said: “Idris Elba talking about his daughter is just the cutest.”

Isan is Idris’ daughter with make-up artist and businesswoman Kim Norgaard, who he was married to from 1999 until 2003.
The teen was chosen by the Hollywood Foreign Press to be this year’s official Golden Globes Ambassador, after she was put forward for the role by her parents.
Commenting on getting the role, Isan previously told Glamour: “I didn’t even know there was a submission process.

“But I’m really glad [my parents] did it, because I feel like this way I’m jumping right into it and just being me.
“If I had known, I would have looked it up a lot more and it wouldn’t have been as authentic.”
Isan is partnered with mental health charity the Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation and donated her £40,000 cheque from the HFPA to the organisation as her mother suffers from bipolar depression, depression, and chronic anxiety.
