New photo Golden Globes 2019: Winners announced in film and television

Lady Gaga was emotional as she earned her very first Golden Globe of the night and opened up about it being 'hard to be taken seriously' as a woman in music.

The 32-year-old multihyphenate accepted the Best Original Song trophy for her work on A Star Is Born smash hit Shallow at the 76th annual Golden Globes on Sunday.

When Taylor Swift and Idris Elba declared her the winner, Gaga's eyes welled up with tears before hitting the stage alongside Mark Ronson, Andrew Wyatt, and Anthony Rossomando.

During the acceptance speech she said: 'As a woman in music it is really hard to be taken seriously as a musician and as a songwriter.'

Patricia Arquette was censored on live TV as she used profanity while accepting the award for Best Actress in Limited-Series or TV Movie.

The 50-year-old actress earned one of the top honors for her work on Escape At Dannemora.

As she made an incredible transformation as Tilly Mitchell in the Showtime limited series, she costumed with new teeth but joked about the ones she actually has.

Patricia had the audience in stitches, and the network censor's finger on the button, as she joked: 'I was born with f***ed up teeth.'

She faced heavy competition in the category against top-tier talent including  Amy Adams, Connie Britton, Laura Dernm and Regina King.

Michael Douglas, 74 earned the very first trophy of the night in the Best Actor in a TV Series, Comedy category.

He bested tough competition for his work on Netflix series The Kominsky Method  in including Sasha Baron Cohen, Jim Carrey, Donald Glover and Bill Hader.

An emotional moment came when Michael dedicated the big win to his legendary actor father Kirk Douglas.

When concluding his speech he said: 'And I guess this has to go to my 102-year-old father, Kirk.'

He thanked his competition in his acceptance speech before thanking the creator of the series Chuck Lorre.

'The truth be told, I owe all of this to one man out there — Mr. Chuck Lorre,' Douglas explained. 'Chuck thinks getting old is funny. Thank you for your exquisite work.'

In 2004, Douglas was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award and other than that his lone Golden Globes win came in 1988 as he earned  Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture,  Drama for his work on Wall Street.

It is certainly shaping up to be a huge night at the gala event held at The Beverly Hilton.

Hosts Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh kicked off the event with a hilarious monologue as hey said in unison 'one lucky audience member will get to host The Oscars.'

Among those hoping for a win are Bradley Cooper - up for both best actor and best director for his tear-jerker A Star Is Born. His co-star Lady Gaga is nominated in the best actress category, while the film also received nods for best film and best original song.

Adam McKay's Dick Cheney biopic Vice in the nominations with six nods, including best picture, comedy and best actor nominations for Christian Bale's nearly unrecognizable performance as the former vice president.

It also earned nominations for Amy Adams' Lynne Cheney, Sam Rockwell's George W.Bush and for the screenplay and direction by McKay, the veteran comedy filmmaker who once skewered politicians as a Saturday Night Live writer.

For even the often-quirky selections of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, a collection of 88 mostly lesser-known freelance film journalists, the strong support for Vice was a surprise. Even its categorization of the film — a highly critical portrait of Cheney as a power-hungry, behind-the-scenes tyrant — as a comedy raised some eyebrows, as did Globes recent comedy selections Get Out and The Martian.

On the television side, nominations are even more widely dispersed among the likes of the spy thriller The Americans, Bill Hader's hit-man comedy Barry, the Julia Roberts-led conspiracy thriller Homecoming, Chuck Lorre's acting coach series The Kominsky Method and last year's champ, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Leading all small-screen nominees with four nods is The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, the FX anthology series about the Italian fashion designer's murder.

One star already confirmed as a winner is Jeff Bridges, who has been named as the winner of the prestigious Cecil B DeMille Award.

The DeMille Award is given annually to an 'individual who has made an incredible impact on the world of entertainment.'

This year the Globes is also adding the Carol Burnett Award, an accolade that focuses on lifetime achievement in television. The inaugural award will go to the 85-year-old Burnett, a five-time winner at the Globes.

Hayden says: “I don’t have a model’s body, but I’m not one of those crazy girls who thinks that they’re fat. I’m OK with what I have.”

Nicollette says: “I don’t like diets – I see it, I eat it! I believe in eating healthily with lots of protein, vegetables and carbs to give you energy.”

Kim says: “I am no super-thin Hollywood actress. I am built for men who like women to look like women.”
