Most people will tell you that if you have to sleep with someone to get your way, it’s probably not worth it. Well, tell that to these ladies of history. Given the climate of the times and how women were viewed in society, they used the tools that they had at their disposal to get into positions of power and make shit happen. And you know what, they fucking did. Most of these ladies became advisors and literally were the power behind the thrones, ensuring the longevity of their lover’s reign.
I’d say that it was probably worth it in the end. Who doesn’t want a gorgeous French palace, in return for a couple of sweaty minutes?

Agrippina was essentially born into a royal Roman family – Julius Caesar was her great-grandfather, the infamous Caligula was her brother and Claudius was her uncle. But she wasn’t ok just being a peripheral member of the family. So she seduced her uncle (who was Emperor at the time) and became Empress. Then she had him declare her son from another marriage, Nero, as his legal heir.
