A ROBOTIC dildo that gives its users “blended orgasms” has won an award at CES 2019 – only to have the prize snatched back by the show’s organisers.

The raunchy gadget, called Osé, was labelled “immoral and profane” by conference top brass as they rescinded an accolade awarded by a panel of robotics boffins.

The personal massager has been banned from the show floor in Las Vegas, sparking outrage from its all-female creative team at sex tech firm Lora DiCarlo.

Lora Haddock, founder and CEO of the company, claimed the controversial decision was sexist because CES has openly accepted the presence of men’s sex toys for years.

She said female sexuality is “heavily muted, if not outrighted banned” at the huge annual electronics show.

“You cannot pretend to be unbiased if you allow a sex robot for men but not a vagina-focused robotic massager for blended orgasm,” Haddock wrote in an open letter to conference organisers at the Consumer Technology Association (CTA).

“Clearly CTA has no issue allowing explicit male sexuality and pleasure to be ostentatiously on display.

“Other sex toys have exhibited at CES and some have even won awards, but apparently there is something different, something threatening about Osé, a product created by women to empower women.”

Lora DiCarlo describes its hands-free Osé toy as a personal masager that produces “blended orgasms” by stimulating both the clitorus and g-spot.

The toy uses “new micro-robotic technology that mimics all of the sensations of a human mouth, tongue, and fingers, for an experience that feels just like a real partner”.

It is not technically a vibrator, using a mix of complex robotics to pleasure its users.

Osé was awarded the CES 2019 Innovation Award in the Robotics and Drone category – one of many handed out by conference organisers to gadgets on the floor.

It was handed out by an independent panel of judges who are all robotics experts.

Haddock wrote that after she asked why the award was revoked, CTA told her that entries “deemed by CTA in their sole discretion to be immoral, obscene, indecent, profane or not in keeping with CTA’s image will be disqualified”.

In a statement, CTA officials said the product “should not have been accepted for the Innovation Awards Program” because it “does not fit into any of our existing product categories”.

“CTA has communicated this position to Lora DiCarlo,” they said.

“We have apologized to the company for our mistake.”
