AMIR KHAN’S fight against Terence Crawford on April 20 has been confirmed – with the venue expected to be in America.
The contracts for the world title fight were signed on Friday and the first press conference will take place on January 15 in London.
After the press conference in the UK, Khan will immediately jet to America to start his training camp with coach Virgil Hunter.
The 32-year-old has picked to take on Crawford instead of rival Kell Brook – which hints the all-British grudge match may never take place.
SunSport exclusively revealed that Brook was desperate to fight the Bolton boxer after he called him gay in a bizarre video.
It is reported that Khan will pocket £4 million for his fight against the undefeated pound-for-pound American sensation.
It will be Khan’s first fight in America since his devastating knockout loss to Mexico’s Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez in May 2016.
The British star is looking to get his hands on his first major title since he lost the IBF and WBA super-lightweight belts to Lamont Peterson in 2011.
Crawford, 31, is one of boxing’s best pound for pound fighters and he has won world titles in three divisions.
He boasts a record of 34 victories from 34 fights, while Khan enters the clash with a record of 33 wins and four defeats.

Khan was last seen in the ring in September when he beat Colombian Samuel Vargas by unanimous decision.
And he still has one fight remaining on his multi-fight deal with Matchroom chief Eddie Hearn.
Speaking ahead of the fight, boxing legend Barry McGuigan said: “Crawford is technically good as well as a devastating puncher.
“The better option for Khan at 147 pounds would have been Kell Brook.”
