Many grow up dreaming of the chance to act in a Hollywood blockbuster before getting dolled up to the nines to collect a coveted Oscar in front of the world's adoring gaze.
And while for most it remains a fantasy, acting coach to the stars, Bernard Hiller, has revealed that the path to success may not be as unachievable as one would assume, as he exclusively told MailOnline the secrets behind some of Hollywood's most celebrated stars.
The 56-year-old, who is a firm believer in working with his students to 'figure out who they are' in the face of adversity, has revealed that Lady Gaga, 33, told him she was 'deeply criticised' every day - and also admitted Leonardo DiCaprio, 44, finally sought the help of an acting coach after losing out on his third Oscar nomination.
Revealing all! Acting coach to the stars, Bernard Hiller, has exclusively told MailOnline the secrets behind some of Hollywood's most celebrated stars
Bernard, who is currently in London to host his masterclass for aspiring actors, detailed his 40 years of experience in the industry, telling MailOnline that the 'thing that kills careers is people's personal problems.'
Admitting that now is the best time for an artist to be in the business, he detailed his job as teaching people 'how to figure out who they are because successful and happy people will change the world.'
And someone who has changed the world in terms of the acting business is Titanic star Leonardo - who has such a close relationship with Bernard, that he ensures to send any potential rising stars his way in a bid to make them Hollywood's brightest new 'It' thing.
Talking about the importance of having assistance on set, Bernard revealed that Leo finally caved and got himself an acting coach after losing the Best Actor Oscar award in 2005 (The Aviator), 2007 (Blood Diamond), and 2014 (The Wolf Of Wall Street).
Preaching that 'even the best ask for help', Bernard highlighted Leo as the perfect example as he finally walked on stage at the Oscars in 2016 to collect his gong for Best Actor for his work in The Revenant.

'Sometimes I'm on set with the actors because they just want to get that little bit better. They can't see their own performance, so that's where I come in,' Bernard detailed his experience of working with actors on location.
Meanwhile, someone has been vocal about her critics in the past, and has used that hardship to catapult her career over the past few years is Lady Gaga - who walked away with an Oscar for Best Original Song for A Star Is Born earlier this year.
While speaking about the success of people who go 'against the grain', he said of Gaga: 'I remember talking to Gaga and she said that everyday she was criticised. All the actors I know, even the older stars are deeply criticised.
'We all have the same issues. Being our authentic selves, brings more passion and love for the world. The main mission is for everyone to figure out their uniqueness. If you don’t do it, it's going to kill you.
'I believe dreams are actually what you were born to do. Dreams are usually considered one in a million, but that's not true. Follow your bliss.'

Bernard also recalled that 'following their dreams' is exactly what British actresses, Rosamund Pike and Carey Mulligan did.
'They (Pike and Mulligan) told me they went to three acting school here in London, who all turned them down. They all said no thank you!
'What would a normal person do? They would stop. But what I discovered is that people who are on fire, nothing can stop them. They are unstoppable,' he delightedly noted.
Another celebrity who was unstoppable was Cameron Diaz, who was hoping to make the transition from modelling to acting while preparing for an audition in 1994's The Mask alongside, Jim Carrey.
It was Bernard to began her acting career with a bang, admitting: 'She came to me me when she had an audition for The Mask. When she walked trough the door, she had an energy, a spark, humour, she was alive.
'Cameron wanted to learn. One of the secrets all of successful people is that they always ask for help. Average people never ask.'
'She goes against the grain': Bernard also cited Laga Gaga for using her hardship to catapult her career over the past few years is Lady Gaga - who walked away with an Oscar for Best Original Song for A Star Is Born earlier this year

Bernard also encourages actors to put their own stamp onto a role, citing Anthony Hopkins' role in 1991's The Silence of the Lambs as the perfect example.
'So, in the movie he eats people, right? How would every else play that part, like an animal? Anthony played it classy, there was opera, there was style. It was elegant. It made is different, unexpected and, ultimately, more chilling.'
Hollywood is difficult for adults to manoeuvre, let alone child stars, who have had a notoriously tough time adjusting to fame while growing up.
However, Bernard revealed that one such way to avoid such perils is having a mentor.
Leonardo, he noted, had a mentor, proving his smooth sailing to the top of the acting career. However, the likes of Lindsay Lohan weren't too lucky.
Bernard is now working with Lindsay to 'get her back on track' - while revealing: 'She is strong and back in action.'
Another topic of concern in the industry is the emergence of horrifying accounts of sexual abuse against a plethora of major names in the game.

And Bernard admits he is thankful for the #MeToo movement which is 'fixing anything that's not right' in the 'conservative' city of Hollywood.
Recounting his own horrifying tale, he revealed he once had to calm down a tearful student of his from Italy who had been called at midnight by a director at midnight to demand sexual relations in exchange for a role.
He is also highly pleased about the progression of diversity in the industry, admitting that 'you don't have to be a supermodel anymore. You can be black, white, red, green to get opportunities.'
Speaking of the future of the business, Bernard proves stuck when asked on who he thinks will be the next big movie star of our generation.
After careful deliberation, he noted: 'Ryan Gosling. He's really a great actor and very serious about his work.
'Jessica Chastain is amazing and Brie Larson is doing great. Amandla Stenberg is no joke. Keep your eye on that one! Lady Gaga has also got something special for the future.
