The Auburn University gymnast who suffered devastating injuries to her legs when she dislocated her knees during a floor routine is undergoing surgery less than two months before her wedding.
Samantha Cerio, a 22-year-old senior, suffered the career ending injury during an NCAA regional semifinal held on Friday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Her coach Jeff Graba said Cerio will have surgery on Monday for her injuries that include multiple torn ligaments in both knees.
Horrific footage captured the moment Cerio's legs buckled during the floor exercise when she landed badly at the end of a tumbling run.

The crowd gasped as Cerio fell to the match screaming in pain after attempting a handspring double front.
She immediately clutched both legs in pain.
The meet was delayed while medical workers put splints on both of her legs.
She was carried out of the Pete Maravich Assembly Center to a standing ovation.
The senior, who was named SEC co-scholar athlete of the year, will graduate this year with an aerospace engineering degree.
Cerio is getting married to her fiance Trey Wood in Fairhope, Alabama on June 1 and will then head to Seattle to begin working for Boeing.
The gymnast sent out a tweet after the competition saying she was doing well and is resting.
She later announced that she would be retiring from the sport following the gruesome injury.

'After 18 years I am hanging up my grips and leaving the chalk behind. I couldn't be prouder of the person that gymnastics has made me to become. It's taught me hard work, humility, integrity, and dedication, just to name a few,' she wrote on Instagram.
'It's given me challenges and road blocks that I would have never imagined that has tested who I am as a person.'
'It may not have ended the way I had planned, but nothing ever goes as planned.'
Louisiania State University President F. King Alexander tweeted a photo of him on Monday visiting Cerio in hospital.
'I had the opportunity to visit @AuburnGym's @sam_cerio this weekend. What a wonderful, inspiring young lady. I have no doubt she will overcome this injury and go on to do amazing things,' he wrote.
The Tigers rallied for Cerio for the rest of Friday's competition, earning their second-highest overall score all season.
They advanced into Saturday's Regional Final against Louisiana State University, Minnesota and Utah, but finished fourth and fell short of advancing to nationals.
The couple got engaged in November last year and will get married in Alabama before moving to Seattle where she is set to begin working for Boeing
