SOPHIE Ellis-Bextor has been left heartbroken after her granny died today, just two weeks after meeting her fifth child.
The 39-year-old broke the news this evening as she posted a picture of Sybil cradling her newborn Mickey, who was born one month ago.
She wrote: “My gorgeous, kind, funny, smart and adventurous granny died today. Here she is two weeks ago when she met her latest great-grandbaby.
“She was a brilliant granny.. stayed sharp, kept active and always had a smile on her face. Loved by many, she will be missed.
“I hope I can be like her and live a long happy life like she did. R.I.P Sybil Bextor.”
It’s thought Sybil was her dad Robin’s mum and not Blue Peter star Janet’s.
She was inundated with words of supports from fans and later thanked them saying: “Thank you for all the lovely messages.
They were really comforting and I appreciated each and every one. Love to you all.”
Murder on the Dancefloor singer Sophie gave birth to her fifth child with Richard Jones last month.
The couple are already parents to Sonny, 14, Kit, nine, Ray, six, and Jesse, three.
Sophie shared a photo of Richard cradling the newborn on and wrote: “He’s here! Mickey Jones born today weighing 7lb 1oz and he’s absolutely gorgeous.

“Welcome to our quirky little family, sweet boy. We’re so glad you’re here safe. Xxxxxxxxxxxx.”
The singer previously admitted she thinks her fifth child will be her last.
She said: “[My sons] are excited actually. I think they slightly roll their eyes, like, ‘Oh, another one’. I think I’ll probably call it a day. I think five is quite a lot.”
