THEY seem totally different – but Liam Payne’s new love Naomi Campbell actually has lots in common with his ex Cheryl Tweedy.
Fans of the 25-year-old One Direction hunk were stunned when The Sun on Sunday revealed he has been romancing the supermodel after they hooked up in Ghana.
But despite the difference in age between Londoner Naomi, 48, and Geordie Cheryl, 35, their lives and personalities are strikingly similar.

Fiery tempers

IN a nightclub row, Cheryl hit toilet attendant Sophie Amogbokpa, who accused the singer of calling her a “f***ing black bitch”.
She was cleared of racially aggravated assault but convicted of assault.
Cheryl is now trying to stop media reporting her 2003 conviction.
Naomi
A NEW York judge ordered Naomi to take anger management classes in 2007 after she threw a phone at her maid’s head.
In 2008 she assaulted two cops at Heathrow after learning her bag was missing and was later given 200 hours community service.
Unlucky in love
Cheryl
FOOTBALL star Ashley Cole and Cheryl wed in 2006 but split in 2010 after he cheated.
She split from second husband Jean- Bernard Fernandez-Versini in 2016.
She has a son Bear, now two, with her ex Liam.
Naomi
IN the ’90s, Naomi was engaged to U2 bassist Adam Clayton and later Formula One boss Flavio Briatore. Both fizzled out.
Her other exes include boxer Mike Tyson, guitar hero Eric Clapton, rocker Tommy Lee and UK rapper Skepta.

WHEN she was 11, Cheryl’s mum Joan Callaghan told her that siblings Gillian, Joe and Andrew had a different dad to her.
Joan split with Cheryl’s dad Garry. Andrew now has more than 50 convictions.
Naomi
NAOMI’S dad left her mum while she was pregnant. Naomi has never met him.
Mum Valerie denies rapist Errol Campbell is the father.
Relatives looked after Naomi as Valerie worked as a ballerina.
Mental health struggles

AS a teen, Cheryl experienced bouts of depression.
She revealed in 2016: “I was just a general worrier. It’s in my nature.
“I didn’t enjoy my teenage years.”

NAOMI has been treated for alcohol and substance addiction.
She took drugs after the 1997 murder of designer pal Gianni Versace.
She has also dealt with childhood abandonment issues.
Boxing clever

TO keep in shape, feisty Cheryl does a one-hour boxing workout that includes hitting a punchbag.
She does the sessions in pitch darkness with UV lighting at central London gym Kobox – owned by
Shane Collins, the boyfriend of Cheryl’s PA Lily England.
Naomi
SHE dated ring legend Mike Tyson – now Naomi packs a punch herself.
She works out at BXR, a plush boxing gym in Central London endorsed by Anthony Joshua.
Working-class roots
Cheryl
CHERYL grew up on Newcastle council estates in the suburbs of Walker and Heaton.
She said: “There were times when me and my brothers and sister would go without so we had food on the table.”
Naomi
BORN in Streatham, South London, Naomi went to local comp Dunraven.
Her catwalk pal and fellow South Londoner Kate Moss said: “We know our roots.”

AFTER modelling at three, Cheryl went to The Royal Ballet’s summer school age nine.
At 12 she ditched dancing to pursue singing.

AGE five, Naomi went to stage school in Acton, West London, and enrolled at the Italia Conti performing arts academy at 13.
A modelling agency discovered her at 16 and she did her first big shoot for Elle magazine.
