LASSANA DIARRA has been ditched by Paris Saint-Germain.
The 33-year-old’s contract was due to expire in the summer but the Ligue 1 champions have come to an agreement to halt his spell.
Diarra described joining PSG on an 18-month deal in January 2018 as a “dream” having also been pursued by Manchester United.
But he has made just 19 appearances, including only four under Thomas Tuchel, with a knee injury restricting his progress.
Though back on the market and free to join another club outside of the transfer window, some reports suggest Diarra could consider retirement.
Following brief spells at Chelsea and Arsenal, Diarra played a leading role as Portsmouth won the FA Cup under Harry Redknapp in 2008.

Those displays won him a move to Real Madrid where he made 117 appearances and won the La Liga title.
Spells in Russia and back in France with Marseille followed.
Diarra made five appearances in an eight-month spell at Al Jazira before being picked up by PSG at the start of last year.
Despite scooping four medals in 2018 the midfielder has had limited impact this term due to injury, leading to confirmation of his departure.
