This is the moment a suspect was captured by cops after he dived into a dumpster to get away - not realising that a police helicopter was watching him the whole time.
Treshawn Lovett, 23, was arrested in South Daytona, Florida after fleeing officers who saw him behind the wheel of a white four-door Volkswagen and speeding with no headlights on.
Lovett refused to stop when confronted and even ran a red light to try and escape - prompting officers to call the helicopter for help.
Deputies from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said they first spotted Lovett at around 9.30pm on New Year's Eve.
After refusing to stop, he drove from Daytona Beach to South Daytona before eventually stopping the car to get out and run.

The footage, shared to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, shows Lovett diving into the dumpster.
He is completely unaware that he is being tracked by the helicopter.
Officers on the helicopter then relay Lovett's position to their colleagues who move in to arrest him.
Using dogs, the cops corner the suspect, forcing him to come out of the dumpster with his hands behind his back and lay down on the floor.
Lovett was arrested on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and driving with a suspended license.
He is currently out on a $8,000 bond.

According to News Daytona Beach, Lovett later told officers that he ran because he was 'nervous' of the police car passing his mother's house.
He also said that he was out on bond for stabbing a man he claims was trying to rape him.
Lovett is a serial offender, with records showing that he has been booked seven other times since September 2014, including the stabbing incident over the summer and a battery charge in April.
