FUMING Maurizio Sarri slammed VAR for awarding Harry Kane a match-winning penalty.
The video ref overruled an offside decision against Kane who was then sent sprawling by Blues keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
VAR’s call gave Tottenham a first-leg advantage in their Carabao Cup semi-final.
But Sarri claimed the Blues’ own camera proved the Spurs striker WAS offside, while rival boss Mauricio Pochettino also blasted the technology and admitted he hated winning like this.
Sarri said: “At the moment the English referees are not able to use the system. I don’t know if they are up for it.”
Kane’s 27th-minute spot-kick was the only goal of the game.
And Sarri added: “From the video pictures on our camera Kane was offside, clearly offside.
“Our camera was in line with Kane and his head and his knee were offside.
“I only saw our video from our camera. Maybe the VAR camera was in a different position. From our position he was clearly offside.
“If the VAR camera is not in line it is difficult to judge whether he is offside or not.
“And what is important is the linesman stopped running with play. He didn’t follow the ball. So for the players on the pitch they clearly thought it was offside.”
Ref Michael Oliver took just 93 seconds to reach the decision, with the official VAR video appearing to show Kane was ONSIDE. But Sarri showed the footage from Chelsea’s own camera on a laptop afterwards.

It is a big worry for Premier League chiefs who plan to introduce the technology next season.
The former Napoli chief added: “In Italy there is VAR. In the first season it was a disaster. The referees did not know how to use the system.
“So they need to find a better system. It is strange in the Premier League there is no VAR and in the cups there is.”
Spurs boss Pochettino said: “To get the benefit is nice, but I’m not happy to win like this.
“To be honest I am not happy with that system. A good example is La Liga. No one is happy, everyone is complaining from day one.
“I prefer the technology, but in a different way where we are clear the way we are going to use it.
“I hope we have time to develop the system. It needs to be a tool to improve the game.”
Spurs skipper Kane, whose side will take a narrow lead to Stamford Bridge for the second leg on Thursday, January 24, said: “VAR is there for reason and I’m sure they got it right.
“I made the run and played to the whistle. I nipped it around the keeper, it was a clear penalty and it’s just a question of whether it’s offside or not.
“I wasn’t sure, I was just running through on goal.
“I knew it was tight. I didn’t know if one of the full-backs was playing me on or not.
“We are a little bit used to VAR after the World Cup.
“It’s a part of the game and will be a big part of football going forward.”
