AN emu has led police through an Oxfordshire village in a Hot Fuzz-style chase – and is STILL at large.

Police have said the bird is on-the-run after it was spotted sprinting through Sonning Common “causing a few road issues”.

Thames Valley Police attempted to apprehend the “offender” in what they described as a Hot Fuzz-style pursuit shortly before midday on Sunday, January 13.

In the film, starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, officers rescue and capture a runaway swan during a police chase.

Officers joked that when they attempted to approach “Billy Big Steps”, the bird “gave it legs” and got away.

Taking to Twitter on Sunday, Thames Valley Road Policing said: “Our own take on HotFuzz! This fella on the loose causing a few road issues in Sonning Common.”

According to the BBC, the emu was also seen in Shiplake Bottom and Hilcrest Lane, and is still at-large.

A single crew was called to the area to locate the bird and the owner is also trying to locate it, it’s reported.
