A MUM-OF-TWO has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer just one year after her husband finally beat the disease.

Martine Adams, 28, from Barry, Wales, was thrilled when her husband Scott, 30, was given the all clear in 2017.

But one year later Martine started complaining about a pain in her back and was given the heartbreaking news that she had been diagnosed with rare central nervous system tumor.

The brave couple now face a second huge battle as Martine vows to continue to be as “mentally strong as possible”.

She told Wales Online: “All you can do is be as mentally strong as possible in the hope of overcoming this.

“Of course I don’t want my children to live without their mum, which is my main priority and worry.

“People know me as the silliest, life-loving, most random person ever – genuinely one of a kind. And that won’t change.”

Scott, an aerospace engineer was told he had acute myeloid leukemia when he was just two years old.

He was finally discharged from hospital food good 26 years later and his wife – who met Scott when she was 17 – said it was a “huge relief”.

Martine added: “When he was very young he needed chemotherapy and was told he could never have children as a result but nurses at the hospital were completely shocked when we ended up having two.

“They are such a blessing.”

Last summer she started suffering excruciating pains in her back and said that she was “cramped over like an old woman”.

Doctors found her spinal fluid was yellow – instead of being clear – and she was sent for an emergency MRI scan which discovered a mass at the base of her spinal cord.

The scans revealed there were more masses up her spinal cord and in her brain and that’s when Martine “became very shocked”.

And on January 2 Martine received the news she had been dreading and was diagnosed with a rare central nervous system tumour known as diffuse leptomeningeal glioneuronal tumor.

She added: “We need to make as many memories as possible right now. I have already made a bucket list as I’ve been told my cancer is life-limiting.”

The family are unable to get life insurance and a GoFundMe page set up by a family friend has already raised £12,000 in three days.

Hayden says: “I don’t have a model’s body, but I’m not one of those crazy girls who thinks that they’re fat. I’m OK with what I have.”

Nicollette says: “I don’t like diets – I see it, I eat it! I believe in eating healthily with lots of protein, vegetables and carbs to give you energy.”
