JEREMY Corbyn yesterday confirmed a Labour Government would delay Brexit.
The Labour leader said his Brexit boss Sir Keir Starmer was “reflecting practicalities” when saying it appeared inevitable that the March 29 deadline would have to be pushed back.

In a major Brexit speech in Wakefield yesterday he said a General Election was the only way to “break the deadlock” on Brexit and said an incoming Labour administration would need “time” to renegotiate a deal with Brussels.
And Mr Corbyn called on MPs from all parties to help bring down Theresa May – admitting Labour couldn’t bring her down alone.
But the veteran Eurosceptic leftie also faced down Labour Remainers by saying any leader of a main political party “cannot wish away the votes of 17 million people who wanted to leave”.
Instead of holding a second referendum he said a Labour government would be given “a renewed mandate to negotiate a better deal for Britain”.

He also risked infuriating Labour members further by saying a second referendum was only “an option on the table” if he fails in his bid to force a general election.
Mr Corbyn contradicted several members of his frontbench over when Labour would launch its bid to trigger a General Election through tabling a no confidence vote.
He refused to echo his Shadow Justice Secretary Richard Burgon, who said hours earlier that Labour would move within “a matter of days” of next Tuesday’s Commons vote and Shadow Trade Secretary Barry Gardiner, who said the motion would be tabled “immediately”.
Instead Mr Corbyn said: “Labour will table a motion of no confidence in the government at the moment we judge it to have the best chance of success.

“Clearly, Labour does not have enough MPs in parliament to win a confidence vote on its own.
“So members across the House should vote with us to break the deadlock.”
Earlier this week Sir Keir became the most senior Labour figure to say Labour would delay the Article 50 process – only to be contradicted by Mr Corbyn’s spokesman, who said the Shadow Brexit Secretary was “speculating”.
But yesterday Mr Corbyn claimed there was “no split” with Sir Keir.

He said: “Quite clearly, moving into office at a period right up against the clock, there would need to be time for that negotiation.
“What Keir was doing was reflecting the practicalities of how that negotiation would be undertaken.

“An extension would be a possibility because clearly there would have to be time to negotiate.”
Tory deputy chairman James Cleverly accused Mr Corbyn of “playing politics at the expense of the national interest” by demanding a General Election.
He added: “Labour only want to frustrate Brexit and play politics with these negotiations for their own political gain.”
