A FOX went on the rampage in a couple’s home leaving such a mess they thought they had stumbled onto a “murder scene”.
Malcom Gerrard, 58, and his partner Katie Hayward thought a violent crime had been committed when they went downstairs to investigate what was going on after they heard a huge crash in their kitchen.
Painter and decorator Malcolm said: “I thought we were being burgled when I heard this huge crash.
“When I got downstairs it genuinely looked like a murder scene.
“He’d cut his paw and there was blood everywhere.
“He’d jumped up onto the kitchen units and smashed everything, it was absolute chaos.
“Plates were smashing all over the place and he [the fox] kept sliding off the kitchen counter.”
The fox and managed to get in through their back door at their home in Ryde, Isle of Wight, and then become distressed after cutting itself on broken glass.
Malcolm told The Isle of Wight County Press: “The poor thing was so scared it had urinated everywhere.

“I managed to stop him running into my computer and got a bite for my troubles.
“It was just a puncture but he had sharp little teeth and it drew blood.”
Malcolm called the RSPCA who managed to catch the fox after 25 minutes and take the animal to a vet.
The fox though left a trail of destruction and the pair fear they may now need to redecorate after spending five hours cleaning up the mess and disinfecting.
Malcolm needed a tetanus jab and some antibiotics for his injuries.
