But just when we were beginning to wrap our heads around the incredibly skimpy pants – which thousands have joked are more intrusive than a “smear test” – the internet goes and brings us a range of crotchless chaps.

Popular Australian swimwear and clothing brand Beginning Boutique have well and truly one-upped themselves with their latest bonkers design.
Featuring a buckled waist detail and elasticated seams, these £55 crotchless trousers are certainly a creative way to show off some trendy sky-high bikini bottoms.
Unsurprisingly, the bonkers item has divided fashion fans – with one joking that a pair of crotchless chaps would be ideal for the gym.
Flooding the brand’s Facebook page with responses, one user joked: “I need to know if it’s available in Hi-Viz yellow. Otherwise I can’t wear this around the warehouse.”
Another added: “I feel like these pants would be more useful at the gym when the butt sweat is real and you just need a little more breathing room.”
While one user was left baffled with the “vagina cleavage” trend, another pondered the practicalities of such a garment: “Is it hot? Is it cold? Who cares? I’m covered for both!”
And don’t even get us started on the barely-there shorts that the brand has somehow labelled under “festival wear”.
Meanwhile, another simply wrote: “Christina Aguilera called from 2002 and she wants her dirrty pants back.”
A pair of the brand’s particularly racy bikini bottoms took the internet by storm last week when a mummy blogger showed off just how skimpy they were in a hilarious photo shoot.
Since then, amused shoppers have been calling out the brand on social media for their extremely sexy designs – with one asking “are we not meant to have vaginas in 2019?”
Racking up over 150,000 comments in just a few days, one amused customer quoted Mean Girls and joked: “Raise your hand if your vagina has ever felt personally victimised by Beginning Boutique.”
To which a second user replied: “Stop trying to make fanny floss happen!”
