A WOMAN was stabbed in the stomach near Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium last night in the latest bloodshed on the streets of London.
The victim in her 20s was just one of three people injured in knife attacks last night as the violence in the capital continues to spiral out of control.
A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm near the scene of the stomach stabbing on Holloway Road in Islington, just over a mile from where the Arsenal stadium stands.
Another two attacks took place within hours of each other as a teenager was stabbed in Kingsbury in north west London and another man was knifed in Brixton, south London.
A Section 60 stop and search order was put in place in Brixton until 6am this morning.
RISING TIDE OF BLOODSHED
News of the latest knife crimes comes after The Sun Online revealed nowhere is safe from brutal knife killings in London.
North London is the most dangerous area of the capital, with seven murders taking place in 2019.
But boroughs all over the city have seen horrific daylight slayings.
One man was left paralysed after his spinal cord was slashed as five people were randomly attacked in four days in a stabbing spree in Edmonton last week.
And the city centre violence is not just contained to London.
Yesterday, chilling CCTV footage showed two men facing off with machetes in front of a crowd of terrified shoppers in Newcastle.
And video also emerged of two armed gangs clashing in a quiet residential street in Kent after a car crash.
In one of the clips of the brawl, a frightened witness can be heard urging a family member to “get in”, before adding: “It’s on our f***ing doorstep man”.
POLICE RESPONSE
Speaking about the stabbing in Islington last night, a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 11.07pm on Saturday, 6 April to reports of a stabbing at Holloway Road, N19.
“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended.
“At the scene a woman, aged 20s, had suffered knife injuries inside a residential address before making her way out onto the street.
“The injured female was taken to a north London hospital where her injuries are not life threatening.

“A 23-year-old male, no further details, was arrested nearby on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
“He was taken to a north London police station where he remains at this time.
“Officers from Islington investigate. Enquiries continue.”
