SPECULATION is hotting up not just to see who Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will pick as godparents but also who will get the job as nanny to the royal baby.
The role of royal nanny has a special and important position within the Royal Family with them often remaining friends over the years.
Who might be the royal baby’s nanny?
Speculation is rife among royal watchers but it is not even sure if Prince Harry, 34, and Meghan Markle, 37, will even appoint a nanny to their baby.
Vanity Fair reported earlier this year that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not appoint a nanny – at least initially.
It says the royal couple will rely on Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland, 62, to help out but there is no indication about how long that set up would go on for.
The Sussex’s are also said to have gone for a gender neutral and eco-friendly nursery in their new home, Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, choosing a white and grey colour scheme.
Tiggy Legge-Bourke, now Tiggy Pettifer, was nanny to both Prince William and Prince Harry and is now a firm friend of the Royal Family.
She is widely tipped to become a godparent with Coral currently offering her at odds of 6/1.
Meghan’s best friend Jessica Mulroney is the favourite at ½ though.
After Prince George was born in 2013, Prince William and Kate Middleton hired Maria Borrallo, a Spanish-born “supernanny” and now cares for all three of their children.
They could hire a “manny” – a male nanny – and it seems they haven’t ruled that possibility out.
Kensington Palace has so far not revealed any information on whether the Duke and Duchess of Sussex plan to employ a nanny or not.
The royal couple have said they do not know the gender of the baby, telling well-wishers they wanted to keep it a surprise.
But a video said to be from Meghan’s baby shower have led royal watchers to believe she is having a girl.

Bookies don’t seem to have much of a clue either with odds at around 5/6 each.

As for names of the baby, Diana is a popular choice – for a girl – at 3/1. Grace also seems to be in the running at 7/1.
Charles seems to be the most popular boy’s name at 13/1 and James, Arthur and Edward not far behind on 14/1.
