The original figures from the Wind in the Willows used in the film and TV shows have gone on sale for £10,000.
Twenty five figures will go under the hammer including the four main characters, Badger, Toad, Mole and Ratty used in the 1983 animation film.
The intricate hand made figures range in height from 5ins to the tallest, Badger, who is 14ins.
They are made out of cast resin with metal jointed skeletons inside to give them slight movement.
The figures belonged to a former shop display designer who acquired them following the production.
He incorporated them into some of his displays, before deciding to store them away at his home in Dorset about 20 years ago.
He has now consigned them for sale with auctioneer Duke's, in Dorchester, Dorset.
Phillip Travers, specialist at Duke's, said: 'Wind in the Willows is regarded as a childhood classic, recommended down the generations since being first published in 1908.
'The passing of time has had its effect on the figures, like the film and TV shows contemporaries, with some degradation of the finer features.
The figures were used in the 1983 animation film and subsequent TV show which ran for 52 episodes on ITV from 1984 to 1988. The sale takes place on Tuesday April 9
'But they are of amazing quality and it is extremely rare for original figures from animations to come on to the market.
'These figures have belonged to a former shop display designer who had stored them away very carefully. He has now decided to have a clear out.
'The group is being offered at an estimate of £5,000 to £10,000, a snip to snap up a piece of film and TV history.'

The beloved film, in which Chief Weasel was voiced by David Jason, won a BAFTA for 'best children's programme' and an international Emmy.
Badger was voiced by Shakespearean actor Sir Michael Hordern, while Ian Carmichael, who played Lord Peter Wimsey in the 1970s BBC detective series of that name, lent his voice to Ratty.
Published in 1908, Wind in the Willows was written by retired banker Kenneth Grahame and based on the bedtime stories he told to his son, Alistair.

Set in Edwardian England on the banks of the Thames, the animal characters adopt human characteristics as they enjoy idyll lives.
The 1983 film and subsequent TV series were produced by Cosgrove Hall Films in Manchester. The sale takes place on April 9.
