A £76M lottery winner has finally walked out of her day job in a hospital kitchen— three months after hitting the jackpot.
Trish Fairhurst, 52, had vowed to keep her NHS role after the life-changing win because she “liked to be busy” and was afraid of letting her work pals down.
The down-to-earth mum even insisted on a modest £20k Nissan Qashqai after partner Andy Clark, 51, struck lucky.
At the pair’s unveiling, in December, Trish said: “Andy told me to get a Range Rover but it’s too big and I was worried about parking it at the hospital.”
But friends say she has slowly adjusted to the new super-rich lifestyle and has called it a day on her job at Pilgrim Hospital, in Boston, Lincolnshire.
“She was a single mum for a good while and she’s worked her socks off – so it’s no wonder she’s decided to call it a day.
“Trish and Andy have always loved their holidays and now she isn’t limited by her holiday allowance they’ll be able to go all over the place.
“Fair play to her – she managed three months, which is longer than most people would have stuck it out.”
‘STUCK IT OUT’
Builder Andy – who worked for eight weeks unaware he had the winning ticket in his van – downed tools immediately after discovering his win, saying he planned to enjoy his fortune.
While Andy has spent as much as £700,000 on supercars, including a Porshe, McClaren and Mercedes, since the win while
Trish has kept her manual Quashqai.
Trish said: “I’ve handed my notice in, that’s all. I’ve decided to leave of my own accord.”
Locals have winged jackpot winner Andy Clark is driving them mad – by revving his fleet of supercars along the only dual carriageway near his home.
