Magician David Blaine is being investigated by the New York Police Department for sexual assault allegations brought by two women, dating back to 1998.
Blaine, 45, is accused of sexually assaulting at least one woman in his Manhattan apartment 21 years ago, according to a senior NYPD official who has been briefed on the investigation.
While that claim may be barred by New York's statute of limitations depending on the severity of the charge, the department’s Special Victims Unit took a statement from a second women reporting an alleged sexual assault at an undisclosed time, the Daily Beast reported.
Blaine declined to comment on the allegations, telling the outlet he had not been contacted by New York authorities.

NYPD declined to comment on the record about the investigation, with Chief Spokesman Phil Walzak instead providing the following statement:
'The NYPD takes sexual assault and rape cases extremely seriously and urges anyone who has been a victim to file a report so we can perform a comprehensive investigation, and offer support and services to survivors.'
A few sexual assault offenses in New York carry no time limit for criminal prosecution, like rape in the first degree, but some, like forcible touching and rape in the third degree, must be prosecuted within 2-5 years from the time of the alleged act, or from the time the alleged victim turned 18.

Among other things, the difference between rape in the first degree and rape in the third degree in the state of New York is whether the alleged perpetrator used physical force or the threat of immediate death, physical injury or kidnapping, and potentially the age of the victim.
Around the time at least one of these newly uncovered allegations is said to have occurred, Blaine made a name for himself by performing his first public endurance feat.

Prince alleged that Blaine drugged and anally raped her at a private home in the Chelsea area of London in the summer of 2004, The Daily Beast reported.
Blaine, through his attorney, denied the allegations at the time but said he would cooperate fully with the investigation because 'he had nothing to hide.'
The allegation was reported to police on November 17, 2016.
The incident allegedly occurred shortly after Blaine's suspension stunt in London, where he sealed himself inside a transparent, plexiglass case for 44 days hanging 30 feet in the air on the bank of the River Thames.
Prince's statement was taken by Scotland Yard detectives who did not prosecute the case against Blaine.
Reports of these latest allegations come days after tickets went on sale for Blaine's upcoming tour of the United Kingdom and Ireland, which is scheduled to open in June.
